Applicants of National Identification Number decry alleged extortion, poor crowd management

Applicants of National Identification Number, NIN registration in Ijebu Ode Local Government Area have cried out to the government over alleged extortion and poor crowd management at the center.

Some applicants who spoke with Super FM News said they paid N50 to obtain the form while the unlearned applicants pay additional N400 to make the said officials fill the form for them.

Meanwhile, the said official alleged of collecting N400 for filling the form for the unlearned applicants said he is operating his business and is not an official of the NIMC.

Some applicants also alleged that N3,500 is being paid to some officials to fast-track their registration.

An official who spoke on anonymity however said the applicants are the ones offering the officials inducement but they are making efforts to discourage such.
