American jazz pianist and educator, ELLIS MARSALIS has died at age of 85 from complications due to corona virus.

MARSALIS’ son, WYNSTON MARSALIS announced his father’s death on Twitter.

He says his father went out the way he lived: embracing reality. 

MARSALIS is survived by six sons, a sister and thirteen grandchildren.
