The Edo State Government has approved a minor re-assignment of key officials within the state’s revenue sector as part of efforts to strengthen revenue generation and improve institutional efficiency.
In a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, the approval was granted by the Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo.
According to the statement, the current Chairman of the Edo State Audit Service Commission, Mr. Odior John Osirenimhe, has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Edo State Internal Revenue Service.
Osirenimhe replaces Hon. Otunba Oladele Bankole-Balogun, who resigned from the position to pursue his political aspiration ahead of the forthcoming elections.
As part of the changes, Mr. Idiake Patrick Akhimien, who currently serves as an Executive Director at the Edo State Internal Revenue Service, has been re-assigned to the Edo State Audit Service Commission as its new Chairman.
The statement further announced that Mr. Victor Oamen Enemare has been appointed to replace Akhimien at the Edo State Internal Revenue Service.
The Edo State Government noted that the re-assignments and appointment take immediate effect.
The move, according to the government, is aimed at sustaining and strengthening the state’s ongoing revenue drive.
