An Ogun State Magistrate Court sitting in the Isabo area of Abeokuta on Tuesday ordered the remand of four student leaders over alleged assault and destruction of property.
The defendants — Hezakiah Adelola, General Secretary of the National Association of Nigerian Students, alongside Kamil Iseoluwa, Ibikunle Idris and Folorusho Jacob Olugbenga — were arraigned on a seven-count charge bordering on conspiracy, assault, harassment and destruction of property.
According to the charge sheet read by the court clerk, the defendants allegedly harassed and assaulted two individuals, Kehinde Tejuosho and Lekan Olubodun, on different occasions.
The prosecution also alleged that the accused persons destroyed properties worth several millions of naira during the incidents.
The four defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to all seven counts brought against them.
In his ruling, the presiding magistrate, M.K. Araba, granted each of the defendants bail in the sum of ₦1 million.
The court, however, ordered that the defendants be remanded at the Oba Correctional Centre pending the fulfilment of their bail conditions.
The case was subsequently adjourned until April 13, 2026, for further hearing.
