Law Firm Slams ₦1bn Pre-Action Notice on Davido Over Alleged Courtroom Harassment, Defamation

A Lagos-based law firm, Punuka Attorneys & Solicitors, has issued a ₦1 billion pre-action notice to music star Davido (David Adedeji Adeleke), over allegations of harassment, threats to life, cyberbullying and defamation against one of its partners, Ebelechukwu Egeonu Enedah.

In a letter dated February 24, 2026, the firm stated it was acting on Enedah’s instruction and formally notified the singer of her intention to commence legal proceedings. The correspondence, signed by Associate Decency Nkume and Partner Nnamdi Oragwu, outlined claims arising from proceedings in Suit No: LD/1587PMC/2024 — David Adeleke v. Sophia Momodu — at the Lagos State High Court on February 12, 2026.

According to the letter, Adeleke allegedly acted in an aggressive and verbally abusive manner toward Enedah, who appeared as counsel to Sophia Momodu in the custody dispute. The firm claimed his conduct escalated to the point that physical restraint became necessary to prevent further disruption in court and alleged that he failed to comply with a directive to apologise in open court.

Beyond the courtroom, the firm accused the artist of publishing — or being linked to — social media posts that exposed the lawyer to public ridicule, harassment and threats. Among the statements cited were remarks branding her “the worst lawyer ever” and claiming victory over her in court.

Describing the publications as “deliberate and malicious,” the firm argued that the comments triggered a wave of abusive messages, threatening calls and explicit threats to Enedah and her family.

The notice demands an immediate cessation of further commentary on the pending case, a clear and unequivocal public apology, and ₦1 billion in damages for alleged reputational harm and emotional distress. The firm warned that failure to comply within seven days would result in legal action at the High Court of Lagos.

The dispute stems from the ongoing custody and child support case between Adeleke and Momodu — a matter that has drawn sustained public attention.

As of the time of filing this report, Davido had not publicly responded to the allegations or the demands outlined in the pre-action notice.
