Ogun Amotekun Opens 2026 Recruitment for 1,000 New Operatives to Boost Grassroots Security

The Ogun State Security Network Agency, popularly known as Ogun Amotekun Corps, has commenced its 2026 recruitment exercise with plans to engage 1,000 additional personnel to strengthen community-based security operations across the state.

The exercise follows the approval of Governor Dapo Abiodun and aligns with the administration’s broader security blueprint focused on consolidating gains in crime prevention, rapid response coordination, and intelligence-led interventions at the grassroots level.

Coming on the heels of nearly 1,300 operatives recruited last year, the fresh intake is expected to further enhance operational coverage across the 20 Local Government Areas. Strategic deployment will prioritize rural communities, border corridors, and identified flashpoints requiring enhanced surveillance and swift intervention.

The Agency reiterated its commitment to building a disciplined, professional, and community-oriented security outfit that complements conventional security agencies in safeguarding lives and property.

Interested applicants are invited to submit their applications at no cost through the official portal: ogunstateamotekun.com.ng. The application window runs from February 26 to March 13, 2026. Candidates are advised to thoroughly review eligibility criteria, documentation requirements, and physical standards before applying.

A comprehensive screening exercise has been scheduled from March 23 to April 8, 2026. Prospective recruits are encouraged to prepare adequately and adhere strictly to stipulated guidelines to ensure a seamless evaluation process.

The Agency emphasized that the recruitment process is strictly merit-based, transparent, and free of charge, warning members of the public against fraudsters or unauthorized individuals demanding payment in connection with the exercise.

With this move, Ogun State is scaling up its local security architecture — a calculated step toward sustaining public safety and reinforcing community trust across urban and rural divides.
