Ogun Amotekun Corps Opens Recruitment for 1,000 New Personnel to Boost Community Security

The Ogun State Security Network Agency (Ogun Amotekun Corps) has launched its 2026 recruitment drive to enlist an additional 1,000 personnel, a move authorities say will strengthen community-based security operations and enhance crime prevention across the state.

Announcing the exercise in a statement, Commandant of the corps, Adepegba, described the initiative as part of the government’s strategic security framework aimed at deepening grassroots surveillance, rapid response capacity and intelligence-driven policing.

The new recruits are expected to expand operational coverage across Ogun’s 20 local government areas, with particular focus on rural communities, border corridors and identified security flashpoints. Officials say the objective is to build a disciplined, professional and community-oriented security outfit that complements existing agencies in maintaining peace and public order.

Applications for the free recruitment exercise will be submitted online via the official portal, ogunsateamotekun.com.ng, between February 26 and March 13, 2026. Authorities urged prospective candidates to review eligibility criteria and documentation requirements carefully before applying.

Following the application phase, a screening exercise is scheduled from March 23 to April 8, 2026. Applicants have been advised to prepare adequately and follow procedural guidelines to ensure a smooth selection process.

The corps emphasised that recruitment will be strictly merit-based and transparent, warning the public against fraudsters demanding payment or offering assistance in exchange for placement. Authorities reiterated that all applications are free and must be processed only through official channels.

Helplines — 09016848812, 09155434770 and 07071099133 — have been provided for inquiries and additional information.

The recruitment initiative reflects Ogun State’s ongoing commitment to community security enhancement and the strengthening of collaborative efforts between local security structures and traditional law enforcement agencies.
