Ijebu North East Youths Shine at #BIPOGA 2026 as Adetayo and Onasanya Deliver Medal Haul

Ijebu North East Local Government is celebrating a proud sporting milestone after two of its youths delivered standout performances at the 15th Biennial Police Games (#BIPOGA 2026) held in Asaba, Delta State.

The week-long competition, staged from February 14 to 21, brought together police athletes from across the country. Representing Zone 2 (Lagos & Ogun), Adetayo Ayomiposi Elizabeth and Onasanya Ayomide emerged as top performers, flying the flag for their zone and their local government with distinction.

Speaking on behalf of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Badejo Folusho, the Special Adviser on Youth and Sport, Comrade Otubanjo Ayodele Olalekan, praised the athletes for their resilience, discipline, and excellence both in service and sport.

Adetayo Ayomiposi Elizabeth demonstrated versatility across multiple disciplines. She placed sixth in the shot put (4kg) with a throw of 7.71 metres, finished fourth in discus with 22 metres, and secured another fourth-place finish in hammer throw at 21.5 metres. Her strongest showing came in weightlifting, where she clinched three silver medals — one in the 45kg snatch and two in the 45kg clean and jerk category — underscoring her strength and competitive edge.

Onasanya Ayomide, meanwhile, delivered an exceptional all-round performance, claiming four medals across different events. She won gold in the 100 metres hurdles, secured silver in the 400 metres hurdles, and added two bronze medals in rugby and karate demonstration. Her medal sweep highlighted both athletic speed and cross-disciplinary adaptability.

The achievements of the duo go beyond podium finishes. Their success reflects the growing impact of grassroots sports development within Ijebu North East and reinforces the value of structured youth engagement. Balancing their professional responsibilities as police officers with competitive sports, both athletes embody discipline, commitment, and service.

The Executive Chairman commended their accomplishments, describing their performances as inspirational to younger generations within the local government. He expressed optimism that their achievements will motivate more youths to pursue sporting excellence while maintaining academic and professional focus.

As the curtain falls on #BIPOGA 2026, Ijebu North East is not just celebrating medals — it is celebrating a blueprint for youth empowerment through sport, resilience, and opportunity.
