Ogun West Poised for 2027 Governorship, Says Rep. Abiodun Akinlade

Hon. Abiodun Akinlade, Federal House of Representatives member representing Egbado South/Ipokia Constituency, has declared that Ogun West is ready for the 2027 governorship election, calling for the support of other senatorial districts in the state.

He made the disclosure on Wednesday during a strategic stakeholders’ meeting held at the June 12 Cultural Center, which drew notable dignitaries including Governor Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun, former Governor Chief Olusegun Osoba, State APC Chairman Chief Yemi Sanusi, Senators Shuaib and Olamilekan Adeola, Representatives Olumide Osoba, former Deputy Governors Sen. Adegbenga Kaka and Prince Segun Adesegun, Alhaja Salmot Badru, Minister of Communication, Innovation and Digital
Economy Dr. Bosun Tijani, and Minister of State for Health Dr. Kunle Salako, among others.

Addressing the gathering, Akinlade urged the public to disregard reports suggesting disunity in Ogun West, describing them as “the imagination of the writer of the report.” He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his achievements since assuming office and highlighted the notable progress of the current administration across various sectors.

“We are here today to affirm that in Nigeria today, there is only one party—the APC. If you look at where we are now compared to where we were, the country is becoming stable economically, the exchange rate is improving, and many youths are occupying key positions. President Tinubu is committed to building Nigeria’s future, and we have a cause to celebrate,” he said.

Akinlade stressed that Ogun West is united, harmonious, and ready for the next governorship contest. “Whatever you read in newspapers or on social media about disunity is simply untrue. When the time comes, we will come together to choose the right person who will make Ogun State proud,” he concluded.

The meeting reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to unity, strategic planning, and consolidating support ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Ogun State.
