Ogun APC Youths Stage Solidarity Walk for Tinubu, Abiodun in Ijebu Ode

The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Youths staged a solidarity walk in Ijebu Ode to demonstrate support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Dapo Abiodun.

The walk, which attracted a large turnout of party faithful and supporters from across the state, commenced at the Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium and proceeded through major streets of the town. Participants displayed banners, placards, and party flags in endorsement of the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Abiodun’s developmental initiatives in Ogun State.

Speaking to journalists during the event, the National President of the APC Youth League, Comrade Olamide Lawal, described February 11 as a significant date in the political history of the state. He recalled that on February 11, 2019, supporters of Governor Abiodun were allegedly attacked at the stadium, but noted that despite the challenges, the governor went on to secure victory.

“Since 2020, we have continued to mark this day with empowerment programmes and freedom walks. Despite all odds, Governor Dapo Abiodun emerged victorious, even in 2023,” Lawal said.

He added that the solidarity walk was a conscious effort by youths to publicly affirm their support for both leaders.

“For a leader who has done so much, Ogun youths must show genuine love and unwavering support for President Tinubu and Governor Abiodun. We stand firmly on the President’s mandate and will continue to mobilise and sensitise our youths about government policies and achievements.

“We are adopting an evangelism approach to instil confidence among our youths. As you can see, we walked boldly through the streets of Ijebu Ode because we believe the government has performed creditably well. In the history of Ogun State, the governor remains the best by far. We will continue to stand by him,” he said.

Also speaking, the Gateway State Coordinator of the APC Youth League in Ogun State, Fayomi Yunus, stated that the event was organised to reaffirm the youths’ commitment to both leaders.

“Ogun APC youths are here today to show that we stand firmly behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and our governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun. We believe in their vision and leadership, and we are committed to supporting policies that will move our state and the nation forward,” he said.

Comrade Oluwafemi Ajayi, National President of the National Association of Ogun State Students, expressed satisfaction with ongoing federal reforms and the infrastructural and economic initiatives of the state government. He noted that Governor Abiodun’s administration has continued to prioritise youth empowerment, job creation, and infrastructure development across the state.

The solidarity walk concluded peacefully, with organisers reaffirming their resolve to sustain grassroots mobilisation in support of the APC-led administrations at both federal and state levels.
