The family of the late Alaperu of Iperu, His Royal Highness Oba Adeleke Adelekan Idowu-Basibo (Odoru V), has expressed deep appreciation to individuals, institutions and well-wishers who supported them during the one-year remembrance ceremony of the revered monarch.
In a thank-you message issued on behalf of the family, the daughter of the late monarch, Princess Adeyosola Idowu-Basibo, described the overwhelming show of love, prayers and solidarity as deeply touching and far beyond the family’s expectations.
She said the level of commitment and goodwill displayed throughout the remembrance period had left the family in awe, adding that the support would remain forever etched in their hearts.
Princess Idowu-Basibo prayed that God would richly reward all those who stood by the family, asking that their needs be supplied, their homes filled with joy, and helpers raised for them whenever the need arises. She further prayed for divine protection, gladness and perfection in all that concerns them, declaring that their latter glory would surpass the former.
According to her, just as the people stood firmly with the family, heaven would also stand firmly with them, stressing that affliction would not arise again and that they would enjoy long lives marked by good health, peace, greatness and abundance.
The family specifically acknowledged the presence and contributions of several dignitaries and groups, including Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun (CON); the Bishop of the Remo Anglican Diocese and Archbishop of the Lagos Ecclesiastical Province, His Grace, Michael Olusina Fape, alongside other officiating ministers; and the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Dr Babatunde Adewale Ajayi (Torungbuwa II).
Others appreciated include the Alaperu-in-Council, the Iperu Council of Obas, Baales and chiefs in Iperu, the League of Imams and Alfas, traditionalists, the Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Oba Abdul Razaq Adenugba (Okokodana II), royal fathers from Remoland and beyond, ruling houses—particularly the Odoru Royal Family—as well as families, friends, clubs, associations, members of the press and law enforcement agencies.
The family concluded by reaffirming its gratitude to the people of Iperu Akesanland and all supporters, noting that the unity, compassion and collective support shown during the remembrance ceremony truly honoured the legacy of the late Alaperu.
