Prince Olawale Yusuf Adeyemi-Oriola (Esq.) has extended warm felicitations to the sons and daughters of Ijebuland and Ogun State, at home and in the diaspora, as the state marks its 50th anniversary, expressing optimism that the golden jubilee would usher in renewed peace, progress and shared prosperity.
In a goodwill message to commemorate the milestone, Prince Adeyemi-Oriola described the anniversary as a celebration of unity and collective achievement, built on the sacrifices and dedication of past and present leaders of the Gateway State.
Identifying himself as a proud Ijebu son shaped by strong ancestral heritage, sound education and professional service, the legal practitioner reaffirmed his commitment to the enduring values of Ijebuland—values, he said, that are firmly rooted in tradition while remaining forward-looking and adaptable to modern realities.
As a member of the Olufadi/Obanlefa branch of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House, Prince Adeyemi-Oriola noted that Ogun State’s golden jubilee symbolises five decades of resilience, enterprise and steady progress, stressing that responsible leadership must balance respect for age-old customs with the competence required to drive sustainable development in a modern society.
He commended the Ogun State Government under the leadership of Governor Dapo Abiodun, CON, for sustaining peace and stability across the state, describing the prevailing calm as a critical foundation for development, communal harmony and the successful celebration of the 50th anniversary.
“I heartily felicitate with the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, and the great people of the Gateway State on the joyous occasion of your 50th anniversary,” he said.
“This golden jubilee is a proud milestone that reflects five decades of resilience, enterprise and steady progress. From its rich cultural heritage to its pivotal role in Nigeria’s economic and intellectual life, Ogun State stands tall as a beacon of promise and possibility.”
Prince Adeyemi-Oriola noted that over the past 50 years, Ogun State has distinguished itself through the industry of its people, the vision of its leaders and a sustained commitment to education, innovation and development, pointing to visible strides in infrastructure, commerce and human capital.
According to him, the peaceful atmosphere currently enjoyed by residents is the result of effective governance, strategic coordination and the cooperation of the people, adding that Ijebuland, as a vital part of Ogun State, continues to record steady progress under this climate of peace.
He stressed that true leadership is defined by vision, influence and the ability to inspire, rather than the mere exercise of authority, noting that these qualities are evident in the current administration.
“These qualities are clearly reflected in the present administration of Prince Dapo Abiodun. May God continue to guide and protect Ogun State and its people,” he said.
Prince Adeyemi-Oriola urged residents to remain united, patriotic and committed to the collective growth and greatness of Ogun State, expressing hope that the golden jubilee would inspire renewed purpose and deeper bonds among the people.
He concluded by wishing all indigenes a happy 50th anniversary celebration and praying for even greater achievements for Ogun State in the years ahead.
