In a bid to promote compliance and ease administrative burdens, the Ogun State Internal Revenue Service (OGIRS) has announced an extension for the filing of Annual Tax Returns by Tax Agents.

The revised filing period will run from February 1 to February 14, 2026, giving Tax Agents additional time to fulfill their statutory obligations. OGIRS urges all Tax Agents yet to file their returns to take full advantage of this extension.

Filing annual returns is a legal requirement for all taxable individuals and organizations. Non-compliance may attract penalties and other sanctions under the law.

OGIRS emphasized that timely and accurate filing not only helps Tax Agents avoid penalties but also supports the state’s digitalized and transparent tax system, aimed at streamlining revenue administration and fostering accountability.

Tax Agents are therefore encouraged to prioritize their filings within the extended window to ensure compliance and maximize the benefits of the state’s modernized tax framework.
