₦30 Million Tech Hub Commissioned at Emmanuel Anglican Primary School to Boost Digital Learning

The Adeola Azeez Community Care Foundation (AACCF) has officially commissioned a ₦30 million technology hub at Emmanuel Anglican Primary School, Italupe, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, in a landmark initiative aimed at expanding access to digital learning for pupils in public primary schools.

The hub was inaugurated on Monday, January 19, 2026, with the ribbon-cutting ceremony performed by First Lady of Ogun State, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, alongside Deputy Governor Engr. Noimot Salako, Chairman of Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area, Hon. Dare Alebiosu, and other government officials, education stakeholders, corporate partners, and community representatives.

Among those present were the Chairman of Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Evangelist Olalekan Ifede, zonal and local education authorities, representatives of teachers’ associations, and the school’s Headmaster, Mr. Osho Lawrence.

Speaking at the commissioning, Alhaja Adeola Azeez, founder of AACCF, said the project was conceived to bridge the digital divide faced by pupils in underserved public schools, many of whom only learn computer studies theoretically, without practical exposure. She emphasized that early engagement with technology fosters confidence, curiosity, and better learning outcomes, noting that planning for the project began in 2024 and received SUBEB approval in October 2024.

Alhaja Azeez highlighted the initiative’s alignment with key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Quality Education (SDG 4), Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG 9), Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17), emphasizing collaboration between government, private sector, and civil society.

In her remarks, Deputy Governor Engr. Noimot Salako praised the partnerships driving the initiative, particularly with Teach For Nigeria, and underscored how the hub would enhance digital learning for pupils, support teachers in practical computer instruction, and provide learning opportunities for the wider community. She encouraged the school and community to take ownership of the facility, ensuring its maintenance for long-term benefits.

Also speaking, Headmaster Mr. Osho Lawrence commended Alhaja Azeez and AACCF for the intervention, noting that the Tech Hub would significantly improve pupils’ performance in technology-related subjects and empower teachers to deliver practical computer education effectively.

The project was supported by several partners, including First Bank of Nigeria and Providus Bank (funding), Microsoft Nigeria (software licenses), Leadway Assurance (insurance coverage), and Berger Paints Nigeria (refurbishment of the facility).

While the hub is now operational, AACCF revealed that additional funding is needed to further strengthen the facility and announced plans to establish similar Tech Hubs at St. James United Primary School, Mobalufon, Odogbolu, and Baptist Primary School, Ogbogbo, Ijebu North East.

The Tech Hub is expected to serve as a practical learning resource, enhancing digital literacy among pupils and teachers, and supporting Ogun State’s broader efforts to improve education through technology.

This initiative positions AACCF as a pioneering model for leveraging private resources and partnerships to bridge educational gaps in underserved communities.
