OGUN LAUNCHES AI-POWERED LEARNING PLATFORM, UNVEILS NEW EDUCATION MINISTRY WEBSITE

The Ogun State Government has taken a major step toward digitalising its education sector with the launch of a new Ministry of Education, Science and Technology website and an Artificial Intelligence–enabled Learning Management System designed to enhance teaching and learning across public schools.

The platforms were unveiled in Abeokuta on Tuesday by the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, who described the initiative as a significant milestone in the state’s digital transformation drive.

According to the Commissioner, the newly launched website—accessible via moest.ogunstate.gov.ng—offers a more robust, user-friendly interface that provides easy access to information on education initiatives, programmes, projects and the overall progress of the sector. He noted that the platform also consolidates key digital tools of the Ministry, eliminating the need for users to navigate multiple links.

Prof. Arigbabu also introduced the Ogun Learning Enhancement and Academic Resource Network (OgunLEARN), an AI-powered, state-backed digital learning environment designed to support teachers and improve learning outcomes in physical classrooms.

He explained that OgunLEARN provides teachers with curriculum-aligned digital lesson notes for all subjects, classes and terms, while also enabling them to create quizzes, assign tasks and receive real-time feedback on students’ performance.

The Commissioner said the AI-powered digital lesson notes would significantly reduce the burden of manual lesson preparation, provide timely learning data and give teachers more time and insight to offer targeted support to learners.

“These tools—the website, OgunLEARN and DiPER—are part of one story: a Ministry that is becoming more open, more data-driven and more focused on practical support for teaching and learning,” Arigbabu said.

He urged education stakeholders to explore the new website and begin integrating OgunLEARN into their schools as it rolls out across the state in the coming days, stressing that the goal is to build a digital-first, learner-centred education system that is innovative and well organised.

In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Oluwatosin Oloko, commended the Commissioner for driving innovation in the education sector, describing OgunLEARN as a strategic tool designed to improve teacher productivity.

According to her, the platform will streamline routine tasks, give teachers more time to focus on instruction and learners, and ultimately enhance the quality of education delivery across Ogun State.

The launch signals Ogun State’s growing investment in technology-driven education reforms aimed at improving efficiency, transparency and learning outcomes at all levels.
