NDLEA Ogun Decorates 58 Newly Promoted Officers, Reaffirms Resolve Against Drug Trafficking

he Ogun State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has decorated 58 officers recently promoted to higher ranks, in a ceremony that underscored the Command’s commitment to professionalism, integrity, and the sustained fight against illicit drugs in the state.

The colourful event, held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at the NDLEA Command Headquarters in Abeokuta, was presided over by the State Commander, CN Tijjani Rabe. The newly decorated officers comprised 17 Senior Narcotic Agents (SNA), 19 Chief Narcotic Agents (CNA), nine Assistant Superintendents of Narcotics II (ASN II), and 13 Assistant Superintendents of Narcotics I (ASN I).

The ceremony formally recognised officers elevated during the Agency’s recent promotion exercise and attracted dignitaries, including the Commissioner for Sports Development in Ogun State, Alhaji Wasiu Isiaka, senior officers of the Command, and other stakeholders.

In his goodwill message, Isiaka congratulated the officers on their well-deserved promotions and commended the Ogun State Command of the NDLEA for its sustained efforts in curbing drug abuse and illicit trafficking. He praised the positive transformation recorded under the leadership of CN Tijjani Rabe, noting that his long-standing professional relationship with the State Commander has continued to strengthen collaboration and enhance operational effectiveness.

Addressing the officers, Commander Rabe emphasized that their new ranks come with greater responsibility, describing the insignia as symbols of trust, dedication, and excellence. He urged them to consistently uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism, noting that their conduct would shape public confidence in the Agency and inspire their colleagues.

“The ranks you now wear represent more than promotion; they reflect commitment to service and leadership,” he said, charging the officers to embody the core values of the NDLEA in all their duties.

The State Commander further encouraged the officers to prioritise continuous personal and professional development, stressing the importance of training, education, and self-improvement in enhancing operational efficiency and leadership capacity.

According to him, investing in self-growth would not only improve individual performance but also help entrench a culture of excellence across the Command.

Meanwhile, the Command has continued to demonstrate its operational strength. Barely three days to the close of 2025, NDLEA operatives in Ogun State dealt a major blow to drug trafficking following a targeted intelligence-led operation.

On December 28, 2025, operatives uncovered a warehouse used for storing illicit drugs at Rounder, Abeokuta, where a Honda Ridgeline pickup vehicle concealing a large quantity of Cannabis Sativa was discovered. The operation led to the arrest of Fatokun Rahmon (male), aged 49, and the recovery of 347 kilograms of Cannabis Sativa.

The seizure, authorities say, further affirms the Ogun State Command’s unwavering commitment to dismantling drug networks and protecting communities from the dangers of substance abuse and trafficking.
