The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially launched the nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, commencing today with the online pre-registration phase, the commission announced via its official X account.

Eligible Nigerians can now register online through the official portal at www.cvr.inecnigeria.org before the in-person registration begins on Monday, August 25, 2025. Physical registration will be available at INEC’s 37 state offices and 774 local government area offices across the country.

The CVR exercise is open to:

1. New voters aged 18 and above;

2. Individuals seeking to collect or transfer their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs);

3. Those requiring replacement for lost or damaged PVCs.

INEC has cautioned citizens against registering multiple times, warning that offenders will face penalties. The commission underscored that voter registration is a fundamental step toward ensuring inclusive democratic participation.
