JAMB Issues 2025 Admissions Timeline,  Commences Investigation into Widespread Exam Malpractice

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has directed that all public universities finalize their 2025 admissions by October 31, with private universities due by November 30 and all other tertiary institutions required to wrap up admissions before December 31.

The timeline stems from deliberations at the 2025 Policy Meeting chaired by the Education Minister.

Institutions yet to begin academic sessions are still urged to complete admissions and archive them promptly. Post-UTME screenings must be concluded within these prescribed deadlines.

Concurrently, JAMB has launched a 23-member special committee to investigate reportedly 6,458 cases of technology-driven malpractice in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

At the committee’s inauguration in Abuja, Registrar Prof. Ishaq Oloyede raised alarm over increasingly sophisticated exam fraud, including biometric misuse, identity manipulation, image blending, false claims of albinism, and attempts to breach CBT center networks.

While 141 traditional malpractice cases have already been forwarded to JAMB’s disciplinary panel, the newly formed committee will delve into the more complex infractions.

It is expected to deliver its findings within three weeks, ensuring that candidates cleared of wrongdoing can still be considered for admission before the deadline closes in roughly four weeks.
