NANS Applauds Appointment of Derinsola Abiola as DG of Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing Ms. Derinsola Abiola, daughter of the late Chief MKO Abiola, as the Director-General of the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre (CLTC).

In a statement issued by its National Public Relations Officer, Comrade Adeyemi Samson Ajasa, NANS described the appointment as “a round peg in a round hole,” praising the President’s choice as both thoughtful and well-deserved.

The association recalled that before her elevation, Ms. Abiola served as the Senior Special Assistant on Citizenship and Leadership, where she displayed competence, focus, and dedication to advancing national development, civic responsibility, and youth empowerment. Her performance, NANS noted, reflected a deep commitment to nurturing responsible citizenship and leadership among Nigerian youths.

“This new appointment is a testament to her track record and the confidence reposed in her by the President,” the statement read. “NANS believes her new role as DG will provide her with a broader platform to continue her impactful work and achieve tremendous results.”

The student body congratulated Ms. Abiola on the milestone and urged her to remain steadfast and focused in her service to the nation. NANS also pledged its readiness to support initiatives aimed at strengthening youth leadership, promoting national unity, and enhancing civic responsibility.

“Congratulations once again to Ms. Derinsola Abiola. We wish her great success in this new chapter of service,” the statement concluded.
