The Executive Chairman of Odogbolu Local Government, Hon. (Dr.) Babatunde Oyetola Diya, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of His Royal Majesty, Oba Munirudeen Adeposi Bashorun (Alayo I), the Orugbogbo of Imoru, who passed away in the early hours of today.
In a condolence message, Dr. Diya, speaking on behalf of the government and people of Odogbolu Local Government, extended heartfelt sympathies to the late monarch’s immediate family, the people of Imoru, and the Odogbolu Traditional Council.
Describing Kabiyesi as a revered custodian of culture and traditions, Dr. Diya hailed his reign as one marked by peace, unity, and development in Imoru and its surroundings. “His departure is a great loss, not only to the Imoru community but to the entire Odogbolu Local Government Area,” he said.
The council chairman prayed for the repose of the monarch’s soul, asking Almighty God to grant him eternal rest and give his family, community, and all who mourn him the strength to bear the loss.
The passing of Oba Bashorun marks the end of an era in Imoru, leaving behind a legacy of harmony and progress that endeared him to his people.
