Hon. Omolola Bakare Commissions Multiple Projects in Ijebu-Ode, Delivers on Campaign Promises

The Chief Whip of the Ogun State House of Assembly and representative of Ijebu-Ode State Constituency, Hon. Omolola Bakare, reached a significant milestone in her first term on Friday by commissioning a series of impactful constituency projects.

Joined by the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, and other top party leaders, Hon. Bakare led a commissioning tour to Itamapako, where a newly constructed 40-unit open-stall market was officially unveiled. The market is designed to empower local traders and farmers by providing a conducive environment for business.

Among the dignitaries in attendance were the Ogun State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker; Minority Leader of the Assembly, Hon. Lukman Adeleye; Hon. Adegoke Awoso (Yewa North); Ijebu-Ode Local Government Chairman, Hon. Damilare Alebiosu; the Aladeken of Oke-Ako, Oba Osusanmi; and other respected party stakeholders.

The event also featured the commissioning of several other completed projects, including:

A borehole water project at Ajegunle Ijada

A borehole at Ashafa Street

A public toilet facility at Oke-Aje Market

A Primary Health Care Centre at Sabo Molode

In her speech, Hon. Bakare expressed gratitude to Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, and the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Elemide, for their consistent support. She emphasized that many of the projects were direct responses to promises made during her campaign tours.

“During our campaign, we listened to the concerns of our people, and today, we are here to fulfill those promises,” she said. “The women of Itamapako asked for better market infrastructure, and I’m proud to deliver that today. I thank Almighty Allah, Governor Dapo Abiodun, our Local Government Chairman Hon. Alebiosu, and all our leaders for standing with us.”

Speaker Elemide commended Hon. Bakare's performance, noting that she is the first among the newly elected members to invite fellow lawmakers to commission completed projects.

“When lawmakers truly impact their constituencies, they deserve to be celebrated,” the Speaker said. “Hon. Omolola has exceeded expectations both in legislative service and community development. This is my first commissioning ceremony in this Assembly term, and Ijebu-Ode is indeed lucky to have her.”

Ijebu-Ode LG Chairman, Hon. Alebiosu, praised the lasting value of the projects, noting that they align with the vision of Governor Abiodun’s administration.

“These initiatives, especially the health centre and open-stall market, will serve our people well into the future,” he stated.

Also speaking at the event, the Iyalaje of Ijebuland, Mrs. Alatishe, applauded Hon. Bakare for her dedication to upgrading market facilities and improving the livelihoods of traders across the constituency.
