The National Association of Nigerian Students has rejected the National Examination Council’s N50, 000 fee for reprinting of certificates.
Reacting to the new fee, NANS clerk of the Senate, ABDULYEKINN ODUNAYO, in a statement described the decision as outrageous and a commercialization of education. He added that the fee is an unacceptable burden on students, coming at a time when many are struggling to make ends meet.
NECO’s registrar, DANTANI WUSHISHI had announced the new policy in a statement in Minna, Niger State.
According to the statement, the N50, 000 feefor certificate reprint is subjected to periodic review and the reprint requests and will only be approved within one year of the original certificate issuance.
