The Federal Government has suspended some senior officers of the Nigerian Correctional Service over bribery allegations.
A statement by JA’AFARU AHMED, secretary to the board, said the suspension of these officers is to allow for further investigation of the various allegations while assuring that the outcome would be made public when concluded.
Minister of interior OLUBUNMI TUNJI-OJO, had called for a full investigation into alleged bribery within the NCS.
In a statement, the minister emphasized that any form of indiscipline or corruption within paramilitary services would be met with severe consequences.
He assured the public that a special investigative team led by MAGDALENE AJANI, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, will probe the activities of the NCS.
