Justice BINTA NYAKO, the presiding judge in the trial of detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), NNAMDI KANU, has recused herself from the trial.
Justice NYAKO withdrew from the trial after KANU made an oral submission accusing her of non-compliance with the orders of the Supreme Court.
KANU took up submission to the court after his counsel, ALOY EJIMAKOR, tried to appeal to the judge to suspend the trial to enable his client prepare adequately for his defense as the date was too close.
Justice NYAKO had been presiding over the trial of KANU since he was first arrested in 2015 for agitations for creation of a Biafra Republic from Nigeria.
