The Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) has officially announced the recruitment of ad hoc staff for the upcoming 2024 Local Government Elections, scheduled for Saturday, November 16, 2024.
Mr. Osibodu highlighted the commission's commitment to hiring qualified personnel, including Electoral Officers (Grade Level 14), Assistant Electoral Officers (Grade Level 13), and Returning Officers (Grade Level 12).
Additionally, the announcement outlined other positions available, such as Presiding Officers, Poll Clerks, and Poll Orderliness personnel. Applicants for these roles must possess a BSc, HND, or NCE and have completed the NYSC program.
To qualify for the positions of Electoral Officer (GL 14), Assistant Electoral Officer (GL 13), and Returning Officer (GL 12), candidates must be responsible Nigerians who are currently Civil or Public Servants in recognized public establishments or tertiary institutions in Ogun State. Similarly, Presiding Officers, Poll Clerks, and Poll Orderliness personnel must have the required academic qualifications and NYSC completion.
Applicants must not be card-carrying members of any political party. Previous experience in electoral duties and computer literacy will be considered advantageous.
Interested candidates should submit a letter of application, a copy of their Curriculum Vitae, and two passport photographs, addressed to the Chairman, Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC), Behind Bureau of Lands, IBB Boulevard, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta, Ogun State, no later than Friday, September 27, 2024.
In addition, the commission stated that all political parties are required to collect personal data forms (CF001 and CF002) for their candidates after party primaries, in accordance with the electoral guidelines issued by OGSIEC. These forms can be collected at the commission's head office during working hours.
All completed forms must be returned to the Electoral Office by Friday, September 27, 2024. OGSIEC urges political parties to strictly adhere to the timelines and guidelines set for the election process.
