Diaspora community seeks Police, INEC neutrality ahead of Edo Governorship election

Edo people in the diaspora have urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC and law enforcement agencies to remain neutral in the upcoming September 21 governorship election in the state.

The Deputy Director-General for the Asue/Ogie Campaign Council, RAYMOND OSAREMEN, made the call at a press conference in Benin City, the Edo State capital.

OSAREMEN, who was accompanied by other members of the group, stated that the Nigerian Police Force and other relevant security agencies must perform their duties with the highest level of professionalism, impartiality, and respect for the rule of law.

He also encouraged voters to go out and vote on Election Day, asserting that with their Permanent Voter Cards, no one should be denied the opportunity to vote or protect their vote.
