The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has sent 50 tons of humanitarian aid in support of those affected by the recent floods in Nigeria.

Ambassador SALEM ALSHAMSI, in his remarks on the receipt of the relief materials, delivered at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, explained that the relief effort, initiated by UAE President Sheikh MOHAMED AL NAHYAN, underscores the UAE’s ongoing commitment to assisting countries impacted by natural disasters.

The NEMA Director-General, ZUBAIDA UMAR on receiving the items, expressed appreciation for the UAE’s gesture, saying that the multi-million relief materials would complement the Federal Government’s efforts to provide support and help flood victims recover from the disaster.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, AHMED DUNOMA also conveyed gratitude on behalf of President BOLA TINUBU, acknowledging the strong ties between Nigeria and the UAE.
