In celebration of Eid-el-Maulud, marking the birthday of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW), Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has conveyed warm greetings to the Muslim community.
In a statement from his Chief Press Secretary, Lekan Adeniran, Governor Abiodun highlighted that this significant occasion serves as a reminder of the core values of love, compassion, and tolerance, which are vital for maintaining harmony in Nigeria’s diverse society.
The Governor expressed his hope that the festivities will encourage all citizens to adopt principles of peace and understanding, promoting mutual respect across different religious communities in the state.
He stressed that Ogun State’s strength lies in its diversity and called on citizens to unite in fostering peaceful coexistence beyond religious differences.
“As we observe Eid-el-Maulud, let us reflect on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), which emphasize kindness, charity, and mutual respect,” the Governor stated.
Governor Abiodun emphasized the importance of building bridges of understanding and friendship among various faiths to ensure Ogun State remains a model of peace and unity.
He also encouraged religious leaders to actively contribute to peaceful dialogue and mutual understanding within their communities, underlining that the principles of love and tolerance should guide everyone's actions.
Additionally, the Governor urged Muslim faithful to continue praying for the success of his administration and that of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, reaffirming ongoing efforts to improve Nigeria for the benefit of all.
