Ahead of the Edo state governorship election scheduled for September 21, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP has refused to sign the peace accord.

Chairman of the National Peace Committee, Gen. ABDULSALAMI ABUBAKAR announced this at the venue of the signing in Benin, the Edo State capital.

Gen. ABUBAKAR stated that the PDP said it would only sign the peace accord if certain conditions were met.

The chairman of the PDP in the state, TONY AZIEGBEMI was not at the venue to give details about why the party refused to sign the accord.
