Samuel Adeyemi, a security guard in Itele, Ado-Odo-Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State, has been reportedly attacked and stabbed by an individual identified as Michael. The incident occurred at Adeyemi's duty post when the assailant, posing as a member of the Nigerian Army, approached the security gate.
Police Public Relations Officer Omolola Odutola revealed on Wednesday that the attack took place around 12:45 a.m. on Sunday. The suspect, accompanied by others, demanded entry through the gate. When Adeyemi tried to verify their identities, the suspect assaulted him with an iron rod, causing severe injuries to his head and severing his right ear.
Odutola stated, “The victim, who was on duty at the time, was approached by the suspect and others in a vehicle. The suspect, pretending to be a soldier, insisted that the gate be opened. When the security guard questioned their identities, the suspect attacked him with an iron rod, resulting in significant injuries.”
Medical documents for Adeyemi’s treatment have been obtained, but the suspect remains at large. The police are actively investigating the case and conducting a search for the suspect.
