President Bola Tinubu has defended his administration’s stringent economic reforms, emphasizing their necessity for creating a robust and prosperous Nigeria. He made these comments while addressing Nigerians residing in China.
Highlighting the value of discipline and national service, President Tinubu cited China’s disciplined society as a model for Nigerians. He assured that his administration is dedicated and well-equipped to drive the country forward.
The President also underscored the potential for investments in Nigeria, noting that the Bank of Industry (BoI) is ready to partner with Nigerians to harness opportunities domestically. He encouraged Nigerians to be strong representatives of their nation and pledged to emulate China's infrastructure successes in Nigeria, including improvements in education, electricity, and water supply.
“One economic action leads to another, and it is in your hands to help build our nation,” President Tinubu urged.
Dr. Oche Barnabas, President of NIDO China, praised President Tinubu for his efforts to enhance Nigeria-China relations and offered support for Nigeria’s 4Ds initiative. He also requested the President’s assistance in advocating for Nigeria to be officially recognized as a native English-speaking country, which could expand job and educational opportunities for Nigerians in China.
The event concluded President Tinubu’s successful visit to China, which included meetings with President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang, and participation in the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).
