Petrol scarcity: NNPCL bars independent marketers amid surging prices

The Nigerian National

Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) has reportedly suspended the sale of petrol to independent marketers after it hiked the product’s price on Tuesday.

The National Vice President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), HAMMED FASHOLA said that the NNPC stopped selling fuel to the independent marketers on Tuesday when it raised the price of a litre of petrol to N855.

He, however, expressed optimism that the new partnership between the Dangote Refinery and the NNPCL would help reduce the price gap between major and independent marketers.
