The Ogun State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has extended heartfelt congratulations to Otunba Kunle Soname, Chairman of Remo Stars FC, on the recent appointment of Coach Daniel Ogunmodede as an Assistant Coach for the Super Eagles. The Nigeria Football Federation formally invited Ogunmodede, who currently coaches Remo Stars, to support interim Head Coach Augustine Eguavoen in the upcoming 2025 Nations Cup qualifiers. The Super Eagles are set to face Benin Republic on September 7th at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, before heading to Kigali to compete against Rwanda three days later.
SWAN's Chairman, Comrade Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji, praised Ogunmodede's selection, highlighting it as a well-deserved recognition of his successful tenure with Remo Stars in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) last season. Ogunsiji also emphasized that Ogunmodede’s new role is likely to positively impact Remo Stars' performance in the upcoming NPFL season.
"On behalf of SWAN Ogun State, I extend my congratulations to the management of Remo Stars, especially the club’s Chairman, Otunba Kunle Soname, for the appointment of Daniel Ogunmodede as an Assistant Coach for the Super Eagles. We believe this honor will greatly benefit Remo Stars in the new NPFL season. We wish him continued success."
