The Oyo State Government has reassured residents of the state that it will not relent in efforts aimed at securing lives and property within the state following a recent attack that claimed 10 lives in Saki West Local Government Area.
Recall that some yet to be identified assailants attacked and killed some residents of Gbepakan Village in Saki West Local Government last Tuesday.
The Acting Governor of Oyo State, BAYO LAWAL, who visited the community promised that efforts would be scaled up to ensure adequate security especially in areas identified as vulnerable to attacks.
The acting governor maintained that the Oyo State Government under the leadership of Governor ‘SEYI MAKINDE has always shown its commitment to delivering on the fundamental task of securing lives as evident in its huge investments on security.
He condemned the attack which affected mostly the Fulani residents in the village, noting that government will protect its various communities and ensure that no man is oppressed irrespective of his ethnicity or religion.
The Acting Governor added that the victims will be catered for by the government through the provision of some materials to meet their immediate needs.
LAWAL also assured that the government would bring the perpetrators to book and provide all necessary logistics to aid security agencies in their investigations into the incident.
