Canadian Prime Minister, JUSTIN TRUDEAU has announced a 100 per cent tariff on imports of Chinese-made electric vehicles, joining the United States and European Union in imposing higher duties.
The decision was taken in response to what Canada identified as an effort by Chinese companies to generate a global oversupply.
Prime Minister TRUDEAU added that Canada is also set to place a 25 per cent tariff on imported steel and aluminium from China.
Both the United States and the European Union imposed tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles in recent months.
