Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi, Chairman of the Ogun State Football Association and Executive Board Member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has assured football fans of an exceptional experience as the state gears up to host prestigious CAF Interclub competition matches.
The Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne will be bustling with activity starting Saturday, August 17, 2024, when El-Kanemi Warriors, the President Federation Cup Champions, face off against Dadje FC of Benin Republic in a CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round fixture.
The venue will also host a CAF Champions League preliminary round match the following day, Sunday, August 18, 2024, featuring Remo Stars FC against ASFAR of Morocco.
Majekodunmi emphasized that comprehensive preparations have been made to uphold international standards throughout the events. He stated, "We are excited to welcome two high-profile games this weekend. On Saturday, El-Kanemi Warriors will play, and on Sunday, Remo Stars will host ASFAR."
He added, "Tickets are still available, and we are ready to accommodate the influx of visitors. We have implemented robust security measures and engaged traffic management officials to ensure smooth movement. We are confident that we will manage the crowd effectively and maintain global standards."
Majekodunmi also expressed Ogun State's willingness to host more international matches in the future and extended his best wishes to the Nigerian teams competing on the continental stage.
