Lagos, A bus belonging to the Lagos State-regulated Bus Rapid Transit traveling from Mile 2 Terminal to Lagos Island has been attacked by suspected hoodlums.
The incident occurred around the Alaba Suru area of the state where occupants were robbed of their belongings.
Managing Director of Lagos Bus Services Limited IDOWU OGUNTONA, condemned the development in a statement, noting that the trend of hoodlums attacking buses has become both alarming and unacceptable.
He added that the Lagos State Government will not allow such acts of lawlessness and illicit acts to continue in the state.
He assured Lagos residents that their safety remained top priority, adding that security agencies are actively pursuing perpetrators of the crime.
In response to the incident, the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the Lagos State Governor, JUBRIL GAWAT, announced that the Lagos State Task Force has deployed security officers in BRT routes across the state, starting from the Alaba Suru area where the attack occurred.
