The Federal Government has said there is no longer a need for the planned nationwide hunger protests scheduled for August 1 to 10, 2024.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, MOHAMMED IDRIS, said this while addressing State House correspondents after the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by President BOLA TINUBU. 

IDRIS stated that the government is already addressing some of the demands made by aggrieved Nigerians, and making efforts to make sure that food is made available.

The minister also said the president believes that the federal government is answering the questions being asked by the protesters.
