2024 BAFCONQ: Coach Isa Attributes Sand Eagles' Exit to Poor Officiating

Sand Eagles head coach Abdullahi Isa has attributed his team's defeat to poor officiating. Although they secured an away win in Nouakchott against Mauritania, the Nigerian team ultimately lost 6-5 at home.

Coach Isa criticized the referee’s performance but acknowledged his team's efforts.

"We gave it our all, but unfortunately, we lost. I'm disappointed with the officiating. I'm not sure what happened—perhaps the referees had their own set of rules. They awarded three straight hits and several penalties against us. In the final moments, we conceded another goal, which I didn’t think was legitimate, but that's part of the game," he stated.

In related news, Egypt has been chosen to host the 2024 Beach African Cup of Nations.
