The State Taskforce has raided several notorious blackspots known for drug peddling, hooliganism, miscreants and street trading as part of efforts to rid the streets of drugs and other psychotropic substances.
The Night Raid Operation was carried out in some areas in the Agidingbi area of Ikeja which allegedly had been converted into a trading pavilion for hard drug markets, restaurants, beer parlour on the roadside causing serious human and vehicular traffic and environmental nuisance.
The Chairman of the Agency, ADETAYO AKERELE, explained that the raids which will be a continuous exercise are a step made in the interest of the public who have longed for solutions to the menace which also encourages criminality in the area.
AKERELE reiterated the stand of the Lagos State Government and the State Commissioner of Police, FAYOADE ADEGOKE who assured that all hands must be on deck to ensure that all notorious black spots known for high-level criminalities in the state become a thing of the past.
He noted that a total of 124 suspects were arrested, adding that those with genuine business were allowed to go while others will be charged in court.
