Lagos Shuts Hotels, Poultry Over Noise, Air Pollution

The Lagos State Government has closed down several businesses in the Ikorodu area of the state, as a way to tackle noise, air pollution, and other environmental infractions in the state.

Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, TOKUNBO WAHAB, made this known in a statement made available on his X handle.

TOKUNBO said the move comes after a recently conducted comprehensive enforcement operation in key areas of the state, including Agric, Ibeshe, and Ikorodu.

He added that despite prior warnings, several establishments, including hotels, bar, gas filling station, poultry farms, and lounges, continued to flout Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency’s directives.

The commissioner added that the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency remains resolute in its commitment to rigorously enforcing the State environmental laws, ensuring compliance and achieving a clean and sustainable environment befitting Lagos State’s status as the nation’s Center of Excellence
