The Lagos State Government has distanced itself from the rumoured upcoming Oro festival scheduled for August 1 to 15, coinciding with the #EndBadGovernance protest.
Special Adviser to the state’s Governor, on Media and Publicity GBOYEGA AKOSILE, made this known in a telephone conversation with newsmen.
GBOYEGA said it is a religious activity just like other religious activities held across the country, noting that the State government has no business interfering.
He added that the same respect should be maintained for traditional worshippers because they have the right to worship according to the constitution and can go about their lawful exercises.
He noted that the traditional worshippers have their rights to perform their activities just like the protesters.
