The Lagos State Government has announced that traffic will be diverted at the Odo Iya Alaro Bridge from Monday 22nd July, 2024, to carry out emergency repairs due to the deplorable state of the asphalt pavement and expansion joints on the bridge.
In a statement released by the state commissioner for transportation, OLUWASEUN OSIYEMI, the repairs will be carried out in two phases for 90 days.
The first phase of the repairs will cover the Ojota bound lane while the Second Phase will cover the Yaba/Ojuelegba/Maryland bound lane.
According to him, alternative routes have been mapped out for each phase of the repairs.
The commissioner assured motorists of the deployment of sufficient traffic management personnel, to manage the traffic situation, minimise the forecasted discomfort, and ensure a steady flow of traffic.
OSIYEMI appealed to residents of the state, especially motorists, to cooperate with the interventions put in place during the repairs.
