The Federal Government has assured Nigerians that it is working to reduce the food insecurity in the country as the situation is being addressed and the prices of commodities will soon come down. 

According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), Food inflation has reached over 40 per cent in recent months pushing the prices of essential commodities beyond the reach of millions of Nigerians.

Minister of State for Agriculture, ALIYU ABDULLAHI said with the several programmes by the Federal Government, the prices of commodities are expected to reduce.

He added that Agriculture has a time frame, noting that  a lot of production and  cropping is on-going, which will translate to food in few  months.
