The Lagos State Governor, BABAJIDE SANWO-OLU has tasked the ministries of environment and works to clamp down on persons removing manholes and carrying out illegal waste disposal in the state.

The governor condemned the removal of manholes and dumping of refuse into drainage systems, capable of causing flooding and environmental hazards.

Speaking to Lagos Island residents, he expressed dismay at the destruction of government properties meant to prevent flood and environmental issues.

He also warned that those caught would face severe consequences.
