A police officer in Germany lost his job after stealing about 180 kilograms of cheddar cheese from an overturned truck following an accident.
A Higher Administrative Court rejected the officer's appeal, meaning the decision to dismiss him stands.
In the complaint, the officer explained that the cheese was worth practically nothing because of the break in the cold chain and that he wanted to save it from being destroyed.
However, the court disagreed, saying the man had committed theft while on duty in uniform and with his service weapon.
