An accident on Third Mainland Bridge, Lagos, claimed one life on Saturday morning.
However, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), was able to rescue some of the victims who were involved in the crash.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, SOLA GIWA, confirmed the incident, detailing that the accident occurred near the UNILAG waterfront, in the direction of Iyana-Oworonsoki.
Preliminary investigations attributed the cause of the accident to excessive speeding amid heavy rainfall.
GIWA emphasized the need for heightened vigilance on the Third Mainland Bridge and other roads across Lagos.
He extended heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased and reiterated the government’s commitment to road safety.
