A group in Katsina State has organised Peace and Unity Cup Football Competition in honour of the Chief of Defence Staff, (CDS) General CHRISTOPHER MUSA.
The competition, expected to be organised annually to foster peace and unity among 32 Top selected clubs within Katsina State and to ensure total peace across the nation.
All matches are scheduled to be held at the Army Barracks playground as arranged in the fixtures and presented during the competition draws.
As specified in the competition rules, the competition shall be played on a knock-out basis out of which all the matches must end on the same day.
In a press briefing held at the Katsina Township Stadium, the Competition Coordinator, LAWAL KATSINA maintained that, if the match ended in a draw – then penalty kicks shall be played to determine the winner at the end.
He explained that, unlike other competitions, this was planned to be conducted free of charge to enable all the invited clubs to participate.
