As part of efforts to ensure self-reliance and improved livelihood for the youths, women and farmers in Lagos, the State Government has trained and empowered new set of beneficiaries with the necessary tools and skills to improve their businesses.
At a one-day training on Aquaculture organised by the Centre for Rural Development (CERUD), the participants, who were drawn from Lagos Island and Badagry divisions, were exposed to various aspects of fish farming such as fingerling production, fish breeding, management, harvesting, processing, smoking, storage, marketing, and how to mitigate risk and secure their investments.
Speaking at the workshop, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, KIKELOMO BOLARINWA charged the beneficiaries to make good use of the opportunities provided by the empowerment program to turn around their businesses, and contribute to increased food production and transform the economic fortune of the State.
