The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has postponed the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations to 2026 due to the FIFA Club World Cup.
In an interview with newsmen, CAF’s general secretary, VERON MOSENGO-OMBA, stated that the tournament was postponed due to the fixture schedule of the Club World Cup.
The 2025 finals in Morocco were due to be played next June, but that clashed with the expanded 32-team Club World Cup, which will be held in the United States from June 15-July 13.
Many players from Africa will represent their various clubs at the competition.
